"How long can I recover after my injury?"

You've probably heard the first year is the most important. That's true, but it's far from the whole story.

The first year
The nervous system is most receptive. Early intervention during this window has an outsized impact on long-term outcomes.
Year two and beyond
Research shows the brain can continue to recover years after injury. Progress doesn't stop at 12 months.
Always
Because of neuroplasticity  (the brain's ability to form new connections) it is never too late to make meaningful gains.
Expectations

"What can I realistically expect?"

What you can count on: Every effort to restore your prior level of function. Increased independence based on your abilities. Progress tracked with objective data, not guesswork.
What to be prepared for: Neurologic recovery isn't always linear. Progress can be slow, and some days feel like setbacks. We'll always be honest about both.
Will I recover fully? That is always the goal. Brain and spinal cord injuries are complex. so we can't predict outcomes. What we can promise is that we'll pursue every avenue to get you there.

Every session is built around tasks that matter to you, not a generic protocol. You will be the only patient working with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. No aides, no rushing.

Insurance

If your previous therapy felt rushed, insurance was likely the limiting factor. Most clinics are built around what insurance reimburses, not what patients actually need. We built NeuroElite PT differently because we have seen what happens when patients get the care they need.

Wheelchair Services

"Do I have to be in therapy to get a wheelchair evaluation?"

Not at all. Custom wheelchair evaluations are a standalone service. You don't need to be enrolled in therapy — if you or a loved one needs a chair that truly fits, we can help.

A custom evaluation goes beyond picking from a catalog. We assess your body, mobility, daily environment, and goals, then match you to a wheelchair that supports your posture and works for your life.

You may benefit from a custom evaluation if:

Your current chair doesn't fit well
You're developing pressure sores
Your posture is getting worse
You have pain while seated
You're newly injured or diagnosed
You want more independence
Insurance  (including Medicare) covers custom wheelchair evaluations when medically necessary. We'll help you understand your benefits before your appointment.
